Antique French Ormolu and Beveled Glass Jewelry Casket. A beautiful antique French jewelry casket or tabletop vitrine box crafted with thick beveled glass panels set within an ornate gilt-brass or bronze frame. Designed in the Louis XVI Revival taste, the casket features classical decorative mounts, delicate borders, miniature feet, and an elegant ribbon-and-torch motif across the lower front. The hinged glass lid opens to reveal its original tufted velvet cushion interior, designed to protect jewelry, rings, keepsakes, bridal accessories, or other small treasured objects. The transparent glass construction allows the contents to be displayed from all sides, making this piece both functional and highly decorative.

This type of casket was especially fashionable in French boudoirs during the Napoleon III and Belle Époque periods and was commonly used for jewelry, wedding mementos, small objets d'art, and personal keepsakes. Fine beaded and leaf borders. The casket is in very good antique condition. Glass panels are in excellent condition. No chips or cracks to the glass.

Bronze or gilt-metal frame is in very good condition. Velvet cushion has no tears or rips. Velvet shows age-related discoloration, spotting, and general wear. Gilt finish displays normal age-related patina and minor surface wear.
