Vintage Wood Box with inlaid Hand Painted Signed Tile Top

  

This interesting box has a hand painted tile top depicting a sea shore with waves and a seagull in flight. The tile is signed Helene and dated 82.

The box is constructed of a medium brown hard wood with a hinged lid and a moss green felt lining. The box has four constructed feet.

Overall condition of the box is very good, only flaw is the closure, which looks to be incomplete. There is also some related damage to the inside rim of the box, see photo. Measurements are: 7 3/4" by 7 3/4" and 4 tall.
