Vintage Tuareg Sahelian Handmade Embossed Leather Wooden Jewelry Trinket Box

  

Set of two vintage hand-carved wooden trinket or jewelry boxes featuring Tuareg Sahelian geometric motifs, a decorative tradition associated with Tuareg artisan work across West Africa and the Sahara, including regions of Nigeria, Niger, and Mali. The carved lid patterns, border detailing, and overall form are consistent with Tuareg-influenced decorative objects produced for regional trade and export during the mid-to-late 20th century. Both boxes are solid wood construction with fitted lids and velvet-lined interiors. The larger box features a golden velvet interior. The smaller box has a deep burgundy velvet lining with divided compartments.
