This is a sweet, Vintage 1971/72 Hasbro GI JOE Adventure Team TALKING ADVENTURE TEAM COMMANDER with a very good condition single TM Box top. This style of box was made from 1970 73. HE TALKS LOUD AND CLEAR (well as clear as these ever sounded, LOL).

Says 8 different phrases, depending on where you release the string (string still has faded colours to see where to stop). 1 Ive got a tough assignment for you. 2 This is going to be rough Can you handle it? 3 We must get there before dark Follow me.

The figure is in excellent, clean condition and does not show signs of play, that I can see. There are very few scratches or scrapes and no stress cracks to report. Joe is a flocked hair head which is still nice and soft with no shrinking.

No touch ups to eye brows or face paint. The hair is very good, but you can see some hair missing under his right chin on the beard and a tiny patch on the back/right (see pic). I believe these to have been missing from the factory as quality control on the early flocked hair was not great. I have seen a number of these that dont look to have been played with, but have small patches of hair that just missed the glue. The body has the original stringing, which is nice and tight. The legs are a bit loose, as most of these talkers are, but poses and stands great. Clean original olive drab, uniform & pants. Jacket is R/Hong Kong marked (pants not tagged as is common for these). This is the 2 pocket jacket and no pocket pants version so would be a later issue than the 1970. Probably 71 or 72 release. The suit has a tiny snag on the back of the pants and a few spots but do not appear to be play-wear related. The Adventure Team sticker is affixed to the left breast jacket pocket.

Original, unbroken Shoulder Holster and Lebel revolver both in nrmint condition. Nice pair of short black boots with no damage to report. They are nice and shiny and again dont show signs of play.

Clean, original vintage dog tag with chain attached to talking string. Original Box Top, bottom and talker insert (not repro) in Very Good to Excellent shape, expect for the bit of tape residue on the right side/bottom edge (see pic). One corner of the box bottom was re-taped and you can see where someone had used hockey tape previously (which has been removed). There is also a light stain on the box bottom. Box top corners are all intact and crisp.

The original Talking Instructions fold-out sheet, original Removal of boots paper in great shape is there. The original Kid Sized Adventure Team dog tag & chain (chain finish has mostly worn off from age) tag is nrmint. You never see these, kid sized bonuses!
