ANTIQUE LOT OF EIGHT (8) JEWELRY BOX CASKET ORIGINAL CAPODIMONTE GREEK MYTHOLOGY SCENE DRESSER TRINKET BOX CASKET D264 LARGE CAPODIMONTE PORCELAIN JEWELRY CASKET BOX RELIEF OCEAN MERMAIDS: Absolutely stunning hand painted, large, kidney shaped antique Capodimonte dresser box with a hinged lid that was probably made in Italy during the latter part of the 19th Century or early 20th Century. It has the underglaze blue Capodimonte "Crown over N" Mark on the bottom which is consistent with the Mark used during this time period.

According to its former owner, it was acquired from an old estate during the WWII years and always considered it as being "old" when she bought it. The large kidney shaped porcelain box with hinged cover stands 4 3/4" tall and measures 7 1/2" wide by 4 1/4 deep and all its images are executed in relief. Features naked babies and cherubs frolicking in the ocean around a scantly clad woman seated on the back of a sea serpent. The front of the box has a similar scene that also includes a child and a bearded an blowing on horns. The back of the box has a girl riding on the back of a bull while a young man chases after another scantily clad Young woman. It also has babies swimming in the background as cherubs fly overhead. The box is in very good to excellent condition without any chips, cracks, scratches or repairs and the relief images and accents are completely intact without any signs of wear. The brass collar that encircles the top edge of the box and around the cover has developed a darkened patina and the hinge is in good working condition. D267 ANTIQUE RECTANGLE ORIGINAL CAPODIMONTE RECTANGLE WITH LID 6" LONG X 4.5" HIGH AND 4" DEEP:A wonderful antique Capodimonte dresser jewelry box or casket measuring 6" long. This box features a raised "rounded" lid.

The colors and mold are strong. The painting is intricate and highly detailed. There is minimal wear to the gold gilt. Brass fittings have an old patina and have not been polished. The colors are bright and bold.

Featuring Putti / Cherubs cavorting on wine pressed, goats, and trees. The characters are in high relief and painted in beautiful colors and the details are well done.

This box is early Capodimonte with the older "N under Crown" mark under glaze on an otherwise unglazed bottom. The mark was used from 1771 - 1821 by the Cop-di-monte Company in Naples.

Overall condition is good with no chips, cracks or repairs. Some minor gold loss on the bottom corners, brass mounts in good condition, hinge works well. One small area of rust inside back corner D268 ANTIQUE RECTANGLE ORIGINAL CAPODIMONTE RECTANGLE WITH LID 5" LONG X 2" HIGH AND 3.5 DEEP:This is an absolutely beautiful antique Capodimonte Italy porcelain ormolu-mounted, in relief box and cover in rectangle form. Molded on top with 5 putti or nymphs, playing with a goat. They are in a meadow of green grass, with trees and mountain the background and rocks below them. Each corner has a sheave type emblem. The sides of the box are a beautiful deep mauve color.

The box has flowers on the inside. It measures approximately 5 x 3 1.2 x 2. The box is in good condition, no cracks or repairs. Its only flaw appears to be two fleabites in the front left corner.

Condition: Very good condition and some patination to the metal mounts. D269 ANTIQUE RECTANGLE ORIGINAL CAPODIMONTE ROCKING DESK INK BLOTTER 6" LONG X 3 1/2" HIGH:What an unusual item. This is a piece of a marvelous desk set - It is the Rocking Desk Ink Blotter.

Deep relief collection of Putti / Cherubs playing all over the rectangular top0. There is a large handle in the middle which is gilt.

I see no damage at all. D270 ANTIQUE RECTANGLE ORIGINAL CAPODIMONTE RECTANGLE WITH LID 7 1/2" LONG X 3" HIGH AND 4 DEEP:A stunning, rectangular Capodimonte box. The lid molded with scantily clad cherubs, a woman holding a garland or red roses, and 2 doves, all in a wooded landscape, enclosed by overlapping molded "thistles" that are interrupted at the corners by molded red and yellow scrolling leafage. At the latch is a crowned shield above a forest green ground.

Interior with scattered floral sprigs. Metal mounts with scrolling leafage between beaded borders and topped by an elongated art nouveau latch.

Underside of base shows a great amount of wear. Condition is close to excellent - no chips, or cracks and no distracting scratches. No breaks to metal, just a slightly larger than 1/16" "gouge into green ground on 1 short side and some Green patina to metal mounts on inside of box. Outside has a wonderful mellow patina.

Magnificent D272 LARGE ANTIQUE OVAL ORIGINAL CAPODIMONTE FEATURES MERMAIDS MAGNIFICENT EARLY CAPODIMONTE HINGED JEWELRY CASKET BOX. This piece is made of high relief hand painted porcelain and the decor features Mermaids. Putti Cherubs, Fish and King Neptune guiding his Sea Horses with the quality and detail being truly exquisite. A heavy band of gold rim is found on the lid and bottom of the box and the inside of the box features two individual pink roses. The hinge and clasp are fully intact and the brass shows nice original patina.

It's condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or crazing showing no wear to the hand painted design and the gold 99% intact. The inside of the box shows no signs of wear with the exception of a tiny area of light discoloration in the porcelain found just above the rose. It stands 4.5" tall x 8 1/4" long x 5 1/4 in width. D273 ANTIQUE LARGE OVAL ORIGINAL 1700'S CAPODIMONTE: 7 1/2" by 6" closed.
