Art Nouveau Marquetry box

  
This stunning continental wooden marquetry box is circa the 1880's. Box is designed with a rich mahogany wood, decorated with a floral art nouveau motif. The marquetry motif of wild irises is displayed on its lid cover. Iris have contrasting hand cut wood grains that compliment the floral arrangement. A simple but elegant marquetry border frames it perfectly. The footed box is impeccably preserved with no visible blemishes. 2 3/4" H x 8 1/2" W x 8 1/4 D.
