Antique French Napoleon III Casket Box with Brass Marquetry Inlay 11

  

Listing is for an antique Napoleon III boulle casket box with elaborate brass inlay and marquetry on the lid. The casket rests on ormolu feet with brass trim around the bottom and beaded edge at the top. I think the box is made of wood vs paper mache, it weighs 1 lb 5 oz. A monogram of A C in rococo shell on center of lid. 11" wide x 3.5" h x in x 5 d.

The interior lining is long gone. Some losses to the marquetry on the lid. The piece is shown at all angles, please zoom and see all photos to ascertain appearance.
