1967 Monogram Darryl Starbird FUTURISTA VW Engine Custom Car Model Kit in OG Box

  

This listing is for a Monogram Darryl Starbird designed Futurista custom show car 1:24 scale model kit. This kit has been started, but what parts were assembled look like they were done with a minimal amount of glue. A couple may have to be taken apart and redone as they left out a couple of parts. Mainly this would be the engine and transmission group where 2 support arms were left out.

Also, the steering control may need some reworking. This may exceed some model builder's abilities, though I see a lot of people are doing more complicated rebuilds and restorations these days. Because of the large number of small parts, I undertook a complete inventory of parts, aided by the well written and illustrated instructions. I was pleasantly surprised to find that all of the parts were accounted for. Some of the parts are still on trees, some are loose and others are already glued in place. I have included photos of all of the parts I have. With all of the small and intricate parts, this kit would not have been an easy one to assemble and that would explain why it was only started. Fortunately, the instructions are really well written and include photos that will really help in getting this one up and running. The box is in only fair condition, showing shelf and storage wear with taped up splits on the two side panels. The instructions have some tears starting along the fold lines. The box has copyrights of 1965 and 1967.
