Vintage Washington And Lafayette French Oval Commemorative Snuff Box

  

This is an approximately late 1800's commemorative George Washington and Marquis Lafayette French oval snuff box. This snuff box contains a coin on the lid with a profile of Washington and Lafayette.

Lafayette was sent to America by France to aid General George Washington In this revolutionary war. He became a great asset to America and was revered by Washington as almost son. Washington put him to use commanding part of the continental army in which he proved of great value.

France made a commemorative snuff box with a coin on the top of their side profiles.
