Rare Vintage French Reticulated Wood Box Blue Tufted Lining

  

This very unusual box is made of an exotic hard wood with a reticulated name Anais (meaning: holy) in the lid. The sides are also all reticulated. The box is lined in black satin and has three cord hinges. It was found in France. The detail and craftsmanship are amazing.

The box has some signs of age: the lining has some minor flaws and some glue residue. There is a tiny crack (repaired) in the wood on one side. This box will be a a beautiful place to keep your heirlooms. Measurements are: 10 3/4" by 3 7/8" and 3 1/2 tall.
